Yancy’s Daydream

Project Overview

Yancy’s Daydream is an album design project that builds a visual world around the band’s spacious and emotional sound. The design reflects the band’s journey from writing in Seattle to recording in Nashville

  • CATEGORIES: Print and Album Design

    TIMEFRAME: 4 weeks

ROLES: Illustrator, Print Designer, Copy Writer, and Researcher

    TOOLS: Illustrator,  InDesign, and Photoshop

    COLLABORATORS: Solo

  • Yancy's Daydream lacked a visual identity that matched the emotional depth and surreal tone of their music. The goal was to translate their sound and personality into a cohesive visual system through packaging.

  • The final design uses symmetry, grain, and color contrast to reflect the emotional tone of Yancy’s music. A custom logotype anchors the visual system, creating a recognizable presence across all materials. Layouts are structured to guide the viewer through content with clarity, supporting themes of disorientation and reflection without overwhelming the narrative.

Approved Final Moodboard and the First Draft

Testing visual concepts with the band revealed a strong preference for surreal imagery and symbolic environments. This feedback shaped the visual direction of the album. I refined the tone through collaborative reviews with the band, ensuring the final system aligned with their sound.
